Defqon.1 2026 is themed Sacred Oath, and it runs from Thursday June 25 to Sunday June 28 at the festival site in Biddinghuizen. Q-dance built this edition around a vow between the artist and the crowd, played out over four days. The official anthem, Sacred Oath, comes from D-Sturb with E-Life on vocals, and it closes the whole weekend during the Sunday endshow with full pyro and lasers.
The festival opens Thursday with The Gathering. Friday is the expanded Fresh Friday, now a full festival day with the main stages running from morning. Saturday is the peak, the day everyone circles on the calendar, home to the legendary Power Hour where the entire site moves as one body. Sunday is Legends Day, the most emotional stretch of the weekend, ending on that Sacred Oath drop one final time.
Eight stages spread across the harder styles spectrum. The RED is the mainstage, stadium scale, the euphoric hardstyle headliners. The BLUE goes harder and more experimental. The opening night sets the tone, and in 2026 the BLACK Stage Spotlight during The Gathering goes to Hysta, the French hardcore artist taking one of the most prominent slots of the entire opening ceremony. The Spotlight is one of the highest honours a hardcore or hardstyle artist can earn on these grounds, a solo show built around a single name. Putting a French hardcore act in that position on opening night is a statement, and it is a good one. Get in early Thursday. Do not sleep on The Gathering.
The Hardcore Heavyweights
Across the weekend the BLACK delivers the names that built the modern hardcore canon. Angerfist headlines the stage with the masked, relentless sound that defines a whole era of the genre. Mad Dog brings the Italian hardcore bite. Radical Redemption shows up with the wall-of-kick energy. Slaughterhouse and the large-scale The Great Krach Show round out a programme that does not let your heart rate drop below dangerous.
